...And don't go wishing them 'Merry Christmas' either

Most Christians across the globe are celebrating Prophet Isa's (a.s.) birth today; not realizing that 1) “Jesus” was not born on this day, 2) Jesus never celebrated his birthday, and 3) there are several verses in the Bible that prohibit this pagan practice.
As Muslims we do not refer to the Bible when in debate or discussion about Isa from the Islamic perspective. We refer to verses such as Surah At Tauba v30; or Al-Maida v116-118. For the Mu'mineen, this is enough; Isa (a.s.) never claimed to be the son of God; and never told his Apostles or anyone to worship him (“I and the Father are one” is invalid).
So where did this day come from?
Pagan Practices: In ancient times the winter solstice was celebrated as the birthday of Mithras, an ancient Persian god, and of Sol Invictus, the 'unconquered' sun god. Sir James George Frazier points out in his well-researched book, The Golden Bough, that pagan practices rivaled those of the Christians because of its solemn rituals with aspirations toward obtaining moral purity and immortality. The Julian Calendar, however, celebrated the solstice on Jan. 6, the birthday of Osiris. To compensate, the Christians began incorporating these pagan practices into their religion.
The Romans recognized Dec. 25 as the Nativity of the Sun. Celebrants in those ancient times worshiped in shrines as the new, “virgin” Unconquered Sun was “born.”
The Egyptians represented this new-born sun with the image of an infant which they brought forth and exhibited to his worshippers; the Semites in the Middle East commemorated this day as the birth of the Goddess Heavenly Virgin.
Luke 2:1 states that Caesar took census of the known world, not during the winter months; Luke 2:6-8 states the shepherds watched their flocks at night, also not during the winter months. Leviticus 23:34-36 mentions the Feast of Tabernacles, during which time Joseph (a.s.) and Mary (r.a.a.) would have traveled during warmer climes.
Jesus warned his followers in Mark 7:6-9; Matthew 5:17-19; and Deuteronomy 12:30-32 of hypocrites; upholding Allah's Law and the correct worship of Allah.
Since the fourth century Christians have basically flipped the script, substituting the birth of the new “sun,” for the birth of Jesus to avoid being associated with paganism. Pope Leo The Great rebuked the belief that Christians celebrated the birth of this unconquered sun but rather celebrated this day as the nativity of Christ.
For the Mu'mineen we have the Sunnah of Rasul'Allah to follow in this Hadith: The Prophet (s.a.w.) has said: “Do not over praise me as the Christians over-praised the son of Mary. I am His slave so say: 'Allah's slave and messenger'.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
As Isa (a.s.) foretold of the coming of Prophet Muhammed as the Seal of all Prophets, ask the Christian: What Would Jesus Do?

A Reminder for Muslims: Islam Does Not Celebrate Thanksgiving

Any act of worship, praying, food feasting or otherwise that gives “Thanks” to any other than Allah (s.w.t.) places you, My Brother and Sister, outside the fold of Islam. Plain and simple your actions, when you go (because we know you get invited), puts you in the company of idolaters, and we know what Allah tells mankind about that. It is outside the Ideology that is Islam; its belief and practices; and the origins of where this celebratory day is neatly tucked away, and not in the history books in front of young children today.

A "history" lesson today and for all time...

As the first British “Pilgrims” landed on the shores of Massachusetts in 1614, they carried with them small pox, which the native Wampanoag promptly caught, and died.

“In mid-winter 1620 the English ship Mayflower landed on the North American coast, delivering 102 exiles. The original native people of this stretch of shoreline had already been killed off. In 1614 a British expedition had landed there. When they left they took 24 Indians as slaves and left smallpox behind. Three years of plague wiped out between 90 and 96 per cent of the inhabitants of the coast, destroying most villages completely.” - Michael Ely, “Native blood: the truth behind the myth of Thanksgiving Day.”

The English thought the natives' death was “divine intervention”, and began to lay “claim” to the land that had been vacated by the disease. The so-called “Puritans” themselves were exiled from England, but saw this religious colony as a model of an ideology that they believed all of Europe should adopt.

The early Colonists had misinterpreted a verse in the Bible from Psalms, “2:8. “Ask of me, and I shall give thee, the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession,” to summarily declare god their real estate agent on this continent, and later overseas as Boers seized South Africa and the Zionists seized Palestine.

Slavery, disease and war against the natives became the order of the day, of the time, of the era. Among many other instances, at Pequot village on the Mystic River, the Puritan Colonists' implementation of their “divine” rule proceeded to trade, enslave and massacre and burn the natives alive and take control of the land, all under the “guidance” and “sufficient light from the word of God for our proceedings.”

It was slavery of the Native American during the 1630's that the British exploited first, before the exponential slave trade of Africans began. How many of us knew this bit of “his” story that is not taught in US schools?

Islam as Ideology takes advantage of no man, tribe, or nation. It does not trade, enslave, massacre nor war against any person, people, or nation. If illness is spread Muslims are ordered to stay among the sick to treat, cure and help prevent and not spread the disease. Masonic President George Washington called for a national celebration of the day as he forged a capitalist society that took advantage of anyone who was not European. Years later Abraham Lincoln made the day a legal holiday as he sent troops to suppress the Sioux in Minnesota.

As for Al-Qur'an being misinterpreted by non-Muslims in prohibiting Muslims from befriending them, Allah (s.w.t.) says, “As for such [of the unbelievers] as do not fight against you on account of [your] faith, and neither drive you forth from your homelands, God does not forbid you to show them kindness and to behave towards them with full equity: for, verily, God loves those who act equitably. God only forbids you to turn in friendship towards such as fight against you because of [your] faith, and drive you forth from your homelands, or aid [others] in driving you forth: and as for those [from among you] who turn towards them in friendship; it is they, they who are truly wrongdoers!" (Al Qur'an 60:8,9).

Muslims give “thanks” to Allah every single moment of our lives, from the moment we go to sleep to when we recite the Du'aa upon wakening; to every action throughout our day. There is some small prayer we can recite praising Our Creator for everything we do, for just being alive. Allah Provides, Islam Guides, Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w.) shows us how. Muslims have no need for “Thanksgiving” once a year when we give thanks to Allah every day.

What began as a "religious" celebration has transformed into the national and cultural norm. Everyone click on the following link. Educate yourselves on the real story behind “Thanksgiving,” and not “his” story. Muslims when you do go, ask your non-Muslim family and friends do they really know what happened back then.

We will get invited; some of us will go; and some of us won't go to such "dinners." If we do, I feel it should be with a heavy heart. Our true "family" is our family of believers. As Muslims we have Allah and His Deen of Islam to follow:

"If you disbelieve - indeed, Allah is Free from need of you. And He does not approve for His servants disbelief. And if you are grateful, He approves it for you; and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you about what you used to do. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts." (Al-Qur'an 39:7)

"...This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion..." (Al-Qur'an 5:3)

Let us remind ourselves to Fear Allah first, Seek His Forgiveness, and seek Allah's Guidance as we provide and try to give Da'wah to Allah, the Sunnah of Rasul'Allah and, the Deen of Islam.

An Intellectual, Political, and Spiritual Ideology

23 Ramadhan, 1434

Muslims' inability to think for themselves contributed to the fall of the Khilafah. They had help; during the “Colonialists'”systematic removal of the Khilafah, the Colonialists, among a myriad of tactics, “moved” Allah and all Islamic thought to Fridays only. Midweek Muslims were to assimilate themselves and participate in the prevalent society wherever they lived; encourage inter-faith dialogue, and “rest” on Sunday. As any thought of Islamic revival was removed; the Colonialists left no stone unturned and implemented curricula, culture, philosophy, people, history and lifestyle to ensure that the Muslim society and environment in their homelands was non-Islamic; an environment which inundated the Muslim Mind with any and all other ideas and methods other than Islam. The Colonialists changed the Muslim Mind and taught him to think “western” instead of Islamic.
As a result, since before 1924 any and all efforts to revive and enlighten the Muslim Ummah have failed, simply because the Muslim has been and is still attempting to revive the Ummah based on western thought, western philosophy, western culture, instead of drawing upon the example given to our Ummah by Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w.).
Today Muslims in Syria are begging Secretary of State John Kerry for weapons. Excuse me, but doesn't verse five of Al-Fatihah specifically say, “You do we worship and Thine Aid we seek(?)” Why are Muslims asking any man for help? Read 2:107. Meanwhile Muslims in Egypt have proclaimed they are ready to “die for Democracy!” That statement repulsed me when I read it a few days ago; I thought to myself that Muslims had reached rock bottom. Further thought revealed that Muslims had already reached “rock bottom” once the Khilafah fell nearly 100 years ago; today Muslims – with the Kufar's help – continue to kill Muslims, in Egypt over 100 last week, with western weapons.
Our Fard Khifayyah now is to regain the tools for the Muslim Mind to begin bonding as individuals and groups; to begin having an effect on local society to effect radical change breaking across all western imposed borders, barriers and gaps; in effect to impose our own Islamic Idea and correct method to an enlightened Revival.

An Idea and a Method

Ramadhan 10, 1434
Islam As Ideology

The paragraph that follows requires the reader to have a belief in someone, a Creator greater than yourself. To the Atheist you may click away from this page; to the Agnostic the Systems presented here are not man made; rather they are intellectual; practical; material; political; ideological and spiritual. Insha'Allah the Agnostic may find answers to their questions here. To the People of the Book, among other verses from Al-Qur'an I'll use what over the years has become my favorite: 49:13. To the Muslim, may these words inspire you to Al-Qur'an 3:104 – become part of a group that enjoins good; forbids evil and accepts the Fard Khifayya of working to re-establish the Islamic Way of Life According to the Methodology of the Prophethood...

“Man revives (yanhaDU) according to what he carries of thought (fikr) about man, life and the universe, and about their relationship, as a whole, with what preceded this life and what comes after it. Hence, in order for man to revive (yanhaD), it is necessary to radically and comprehensively change his current thought (fikr) and generate another thought (fikr) for him. This is because it is the thought (fikr) that generates the concepts about things and consolidates them. Man shapes his behavior (sulook) in this life according to his concepts (mafaaheem) about it. So, man's concepts (mafaaheem) about a person he likes shapes his behavior (sulook) towards him. This is in contrast with his behavior towards a person he dislikes and holds concepts of hatred. Also he will exhibit different behavior (sulook) towards a person he does not know or holds any concepts (mafaaheem) about. So, human behavior (sulook) is linked to man's concepts (mafaaheem) and when we wish to change the behavior (sulook) of the declined man and make it refined, it is imperative to change his concepts (mafaaheem) first. Allah says:

“Allah does not change the circumstances of any people until they have changed what is within themselves.” Ar-Rad:11

SoS Pg 1

Here's a “new” thought for Muslims: instead of asking non-Muslims to solve problems of the Muslim Ummah, i.e. Syria; how about Muslims giving deep thought as to how they can best resolve their own issues themselves.
